    A Fleeting Dream

Wow, time has truly passed by quickly; it’s already almost the end of July.

For me and the rest of the people that are on semester schedule, there’s only one more month left of summer-

I can’t wait to move into my new apartment, but I’ll also miss having only one class to go to…

In other news, Simple Plan’s cd release this year is very pleasing to listen to =]

It’s one of the few cds in which I like almost all of the songs~

Their musical style has changed a bit since their last release; it’s now less upbeat music wise but less emo lyric wise. I guess it’s a even trade off, eh?

Anyways, just thought I’ll make an entry ^o^

And of course, I have to share this:

    DSC01070

Bruins are truly nerds…and NERD EE XD

    No offense intended, I swear! :D :D :D

    [Dream]

This particualr one was not clear and defined at all…most of it was overwhelmed by the feelings of want, need and despair.

There you are. Hello~ it’s nice to see you again. Let me stay with you for a while. Your comforting presence makes me feel whole. A light kiss on the head, a brief hug, a tender caress…wait, are you leaving again? When will I see you once more? How soon? Stop, don’t go…come back…

Everything I Know, I Learned from Video Games

That may be a difficult line for some to read, much less believe. That is why I have followed it by an explanation of the things that get me through each day and precisely how I learned them from video games.

    1. Drugs are Bad: At an early age I watched as Mario ate a mushroom, only to become bigger and stronger.    “Awesome,” I thought. Then Mario began eating flowers that were on fire and shiny stars, obsessively chased a Princess through eight different worlds, and watched as his plumbing career went down the toilet. It was this casual observance of our Italian friend, much more than any D.A.R.E. training, that lead to my abstinence from substance abuse.

    2. Time Management: The list of games in which I have been bound by time limits could easily fill numerous pages. The music plays faster and the water rises higher as the timer ticks down towards zero. Even in present-day games I still have to kidnap mobster’s daughters, fulfill a wishlist of stolen vehicles, and kill every pigeon in a city… in addition to all this I must also keep my friends happy by going bowling or drinking with them. If I can handle the myriad tasks mandated for me to complete within Liberty City, then the miniscule aspects of my daily routine become a breeze.

    3. Parenting Skills: Want to know how many young, unguided souls I have redirected into highly successful careers as doctors, lawyers, or rock stars? Hundreds. While The Sims may not be directly correlated with actual parenting, it did help to instill in me the importance of responsibility. Without me, the Sims would not make it to work each day. They would most likely live in filth and squalor. Hell, they might not even make it to the bathroom to handle their business. Through my supervision and guidance many Sims made life-changing decisions and were able to turn things around.

    4. Money Management: Regardless of if it is rupees, gil, or golden coins video games have imparted on me the importance of financial security. No matter how badly I desire that magic shield or flaming broadsword, sometimes I have to stock up on life potion first.

    5. Love Conquers All: The task can never be too great, the cost never too high. Men will fight through hundreds of evil minions (read koopas or zombies or mythical beasts) just to save the girl. What did I learn from this? It is much easier to take preventative measures as opposed to scrambling to reactionary extremes.

    6. All Good Things Come To An End: Remember that exalting feeling of after 40-something hours spent beating a game you watched as the final boss exploded into a glorious fireball (sometimes disappointingly). All games, as it is with life, eventually come to an end. Enjoy the ride as we go!

    7. Help Comes From The Weirdest Places: Ever been backed into a corner only to have your arch nemesis leap forth at the last second to save your life? Sometimes assistance will arrive in the least expected form, just make sure that you interpret it as so and readily accept it.

    8. Sometimes Cheaters Do Win: C’mon now, we have all entered in a cheat at least once (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A). As a result of entering the cheat code, we often come out victorious. Not necessarily encouraging cheating in life here… just saying.

You are but an utter fool, and I will not be caught in your web of deceit once again.

Do not tempt me with promises that you cannot keep and sweet, honeyed lies that slip easily from your lips and sly smile.

We are done, and nothing can bring us back to where we were before.

    Do not try again, imbecile.

Give up, you traitor, betrayer of the heart.

Turn around and never look back, for that is what I have promised to do.

    Forgive and forget?

    I think not.

Rest assured, I will remember this always.

    Broken

I am but a broken figurine, yearning to be repaired yet refusing offers of help.

    What do you care?

“Why do you care?” she asked. “You cannot have it both ways. You cannot claim you want me and ask me to give you my heart, when you cannot reciprocate. You cannot want me one minute, and demand my leave the next. You cannot expect me to give you my heart, when I already have, and return it broken and bruised. You cannot beg indifference, and then act like you care.”
